Mr. Dhiman Mitra of West Bengal became the champion of Trichy All India FIDE Rated Chess Tournament (Below1500), with 8.5/9 points on sole lead, 2nd Prize goes to Mr. Satheesh Kumar Gwith 8/9 points, 3rd Prize goes to Mr. Priyan R S Of Tamil Nadu with 8/9 Points, which was held from 25th to 27th August 2017 at Kongundu College of Engineering & Technology, Trichy.

Hariharan, Divisional Manager, Canara Bank, Mr. N.Kannan, Andavar Water, Trichy, Mr. R.K. Balagunashekaran, Jt. Secretary TNSCA, Mr. T.Sundarrajan, Secretary, Trichy District Chess Association.
This event was organized by Rockfort Chess Academy & Saamrats Chess Academy, Totally 442 Players (237 rated players, 205 unrated players) from 9 States participated in this event. Ms. V. MeenatchiRajam of Tamil Nadu is the Top seed of this event. The Youngest is a Six Year old Boy and the Oldest is Seventy years old Man.
On 27th June the Prize Distribution function was held, the Chief Guests was Dr. Anitha, Mr. A. Amburose, Patron Thanjavur District Chess Association, All the above Guests distributed 143 Prizes in total, in the presence of Mr. P. Palaniappan IA, Dy. Chief Arbiter of this Event and Jt. Sec., SDCA, Mr. R.Selvam, Presedient, Rockfort Chess Academy, Mr. PL.Kannan, Mrs. K.Valliammai & Mr. ArunPrasath, Saamrats Chess Academy. Mr. M.Iravatham of Rockfort Chess Academy Welcomes the gathering.
The total Prize Money of the Event is Rs. 2,00,000/- , The Organisers also gave additional special prize to all Under-7 Players.
