The 2 day State Level Category tournament attracted 227 entries were held on 5th of May at Geetha School, Tuticorin. The tournament was successfully organized by CB Sports Foundation with 200 Prizes (50 Prizes in each Category) in U-8, U-10, U-12 and U-16.
Ishvin Joshua of Tuticorin scored 5.0/5.0 and won the title in U-8 Category, Hari Prasath of Tuticorin who tied with Ishvin finished with second spot. Sowthish Kumar of Tirupur scored 5.0/5.0 and won the title in U-10 Category. Renesh Raj of Kanyakumari secured the second spot with 4.5 points. Three Players Naren Raj of Madurai, Mitul Bala of Tirunelveli and Arun Murugesan of Virudhunagar tied for the first place with 4.5 points and Naren Raj was declared as champion based in better tiebreak score. Prawin of Madurai won the U-16 Category with 5.0/5.0 points. Hari Vignesh of Virudhunagar finished second with 4.5 points.
Prizes were distributed by Mr. R Anantharam, Vice President, TNSCA, Arbiters’ Commission Chairman, AICF & TNSCA. Other guests present on the dais were Mr. Ulaganathan, Associative Director, Revenue Department, Mr. Chockalingam Balaji, Organizing Secretary, CB Sports Foundation and IA Ganesh Babu S, Chief Arbiter.
