18th TN State Under- 25 Open and 15th TN State Women FIDE Rating Chess Championships 2016 on behalf of Tamilnadu State Chess Association was Organised by Mima Creations & Tamilman Chess Academy from 21st May to 25th May 2016 at Little Flower Hr. Sec. School, Naal Road, Kumbakonam.
The event was inaugurated by Dr.L.Vasanthi and Mr.Silambarasan, Secretary, Tamilman Chess Academy delivered the vote of Thanks in the presence of Dr.Chandresekaran, Cini Director and MD, MM Ortho Speciality Hospital, Lion Er.P.Senthilkumaran, Thiru. Robert Selvan Adiglar, Principal, Little Flower, Hr. Sec. School, Thiru. R.K.Balagunasekaran, Joint, Secy.Tamilnadu State Chess Association, Thiru. R.P.Senthilkumaran, Secretary, Thanjavur District Chess Association.
Total of 186 players from North to South of Tamil Nadu participated in this official Tamil Nadu state FIDE Rating chess tournament comprising of 140 Boys and 46 Girls in that 92 boys and 28 girls Rated Players respectively.
On 25th May, the prize distribution function went on with Mr.Silambarasan, Secy, Tamilman Chess Academy, Welcomed the gatherings and Lion Er.P.Senthilkumaran, Chairman of the Function Committee presided the function. Cini Fame Thiru. Pawar Star, Cini Actor, Chief Guest of the Function gave away the prizes in the presence of Thiru. R.K.Balagunasekaran, Joint, Secy. Tamil Nadu State Chess Association, Thiru.Robert Selvan Adiglar, Principal, Little Flower, Hr. Sec. All players have shown their brilliance to bring laurels to their District with true game sprit. In particular, I have to mention that S.Kumar of Chennai, without losing a single game, snatched U-25 Open Title and on the Women Sections I.Harivardhini drew with B.Kiruthika to take over the U-25 Women Title, both players are from Tiruvallur District.
