Sakthi Group 36th Tamil Nadu IM Norm Closed Circuit Chess Tournament – Coimbatore

The Sakthi Group 36th Tamil Nadu IM Norm Closed Circuit Chess Tournament – Coimbatore, organized by Coimbatore District Chess Association was inaugurated by Dr. Manickam M, President Tamil Nadu State Chess Association and Thiru. D.V. Sundar, former Vice President, FIDE World Chess Federation, in the presence of Thiru. P Stephen Balasamy, General Secretary TNSCA, at Hotel Alankar Coimbatore. The 31st to 35th tournaments held in Chennai have a remarkable achievement of having produced seven IM norms.
The round robin tournament comprising one grandmaster and four international masters from abroad, three Tamil Nadu and two other states players will have nine rounds of play. Any Indian player scoring seven points in the tournament will get the international master norm. Players participating in the tournament are as follows:
