Chennai Open Chess Solving Contest

Venue: NOVOTEL & IBIS OMR, no: 478/2, Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Sholinganallur (Near Sholinganallur Signal), Chennai – 600119
To promote problem chess among chess fraternity it is proposed to conduct a chess solving contest on the sidelines of 12th Chennai Open International Grandmaster Chess Tournament on 24.01.2020 afternoon between 3.00 P.M. and 5.00 P.M. the contest is open to all and prizes will be offered for the first ten placings. Entry fee Rs.100/- preferably before 23.01.2020. spot entries are also accepted at the venue.
The menu will consist of six problems to be solved in two hours consisting of 2 two-movers, 2 three-movers, 1 helpmate in two moves and an endgame study. Full variations have to be given for all the problems.
Mr. C.G.S.Narayanan, FIDE Master for Chess Composition will be co-ordinating the event. Solvers are requested to be present at 2.45 P.M. to get apprised of the instructions on the rules of the contest.
