Ranjith Kalaiyarasan won the Under – 25 category in the Athens of the East 6th State Level Children Chess Tournament, organized by Ananthi Chess Academy, Madurai on 22nd December,2019 in V S Chellam Century Mall, Madurai. This one day event attracted 289 entries from 20 districts.
Tournament was organised with U6, U8, U10, U12, U15 & U25 both boys and girls separate. Athvik M won the title in U6 boys section with the score of 6/6 and Laksna Sri R won the title in U6 girls section with the score of 5/6. Avanish Ram Amarnath scored 6/6 and Sai Aradhana R scored 4/6 and won the title in U8 boys and girls categories respectively. Naveen Kumar P scored of 6/6 to lift the tilte in the U10 boys section and Anushga S lifted the title in the girls section with a score of 5/6.
Rajkumar S won the U12 boys Section with a score of 5.5/6 and P Anunithi S S won the girls section with a score of 5/6. Prawin K won the Under-15 boys section with a score of 4.5/5 and Ahalya A won the girls section with a score of 4.5/5. Miss Lakshana Subramanian won the Under – 25 girls section with a score of 4.5/5.
Prizes were distributed by Mr. Paul Kumar, Secretary, Tirunelveli District Chess Development Association. Other guests present on the dais were Mr. Dhanasekar, Secretary, Coimbatore District Chess Association, Mrs. Rajadharshini, Darshini Chess Academy, Mr. Pragadesh, Organising Secretary, Ananthi Chess Academy, and Chief Arbiter FA Uma Maheswaran.
