Tejaswini G of Tiruvallur wins 33rd Tamil Nadu State Sub-Junior (Under-15) Girls FIDE Rated Chess Championship 2022
46th Tamil Nadu State Sub-Junior (U-15) Open and 33rd Tamil Nadu State Sub-Junior Girls FIDE Rated Chess Championships 2022 were auspiciously organized by Vivekananda Chess Academy affiliated to Dharmapuri District Chess Association on behalf of Tamil Nadu State Chess Association at Kamalam International school, K.Naduhalli, Palacode road (NEAR NH FLY OVER) Dharmapuri – 636809 from 25th to 29th December, 2021.
Championship was inaugurated by Shri. C.Muthu Kumaran-Correspondent, Kamala International School in the presences of Mr. V.Senthil Kumar, Secretary, Dharmapuri DCA, Mr. S.Seakar, Treasurer, Dharmapuri DCA, Mr. P.Padmanaban – President, Vivekananda Chess Academy and IA V.L Anand Babu, Chief Arbiter on 25th December morning by making the first move. Championship carried Rs.30,000/- as total cash prize spread over twenty prizes. Championship was conducted under Swiss system with 90 minutes plus 30 seconds increment from move no. 1 as time control for 9 rounds.
FIDE Master Harshad S of Coimbatore and Miss Meenatchi Rajam V of Madurai were the top seeds for Open & Girls sections respectively. 154 players in Open and 100 players in girls section participated. In the final round leaders on the top board FM Harshad and Shravan Swaminathan shared their points were else on board two Raghul Saravanakumar lost to Ilamparthi A R and on board three Pavan Anand S lost to Nandish V S and on board four Midilesh Ms lost to Saravanan. Which lead to five-way tie with 7.5 points out of 9 rounds but the better tie breaks help master Nandish V S from Coimbatore to lift the 46th TN State Sub-Junior trophy. In the girls section, it was a peaceful win for Tejaswini G against Padmini S on the top board and miss Tejaswini G of Tiruvallur became the champion with 8 points out of 9 rounds.
In the Prize distribution function, Shri. Stephen Balasamy P, General Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Chess Association presided over the function and distributed the prizes to the winners in the presence of Rev. Dr.A.Sliuvai Muthu, SDB Principal of Don Bosco College, Mr. Muthu Kumaran Correspondent, Kamalam International School, Mr. P.Rajasekaran, Tournament Director, Mr. S.Seakar, Treasurer, Dharmapuri DCA, Dr. Elango, Vice President, Vivekananda Chess Academy, IA Anandh Babu Vl, Chief Arbiter and Mr B.Dhenagaran FA Deputy Chief Arbiter of the championship.
