Examination for the title of “State Arbiter”
Tamil Nadu State Chess Association has planned to organise examination for arbiters at state level, leading to the title of “State Arbiter”. The first of this kind in 2020 will take place at Coimbatore, Cuddalore and Karur on Sunday 8th March, 2020. Participants interested in appearing for the examination are requested to apply in the attached format duly recommended by their District Chess Association. The examination will take place in the afternoon with a doubt clearing session by renowned International Arbiters in the forenoon. Only those having the title of “State Arbiter” will be permitted to serve as arbiter in state and district level tournaments.
Any chess enthusiast with knowledge of the game and willing to serve as arbiter in state level chess tournaments is eligible to apply.
The participants must have completed 18 years of age as on 1st January, 2020.
The fee for the examination is Rs.1000/- (one thousand only).
The application has to be routed through District Chess Association and duly recommended by the District Secretary.
The last date to receive the application is 4th March, 2020.
Examination Date: 08/03/2020
Reporting & registration: 9.00 AM on 08/03/2020
Doubt clearing session: 09.30 AM on 08/03/2020
Examination: 02.00 PM to 04.00 PM (15 multiple choice & 10 short answer type questions)
Lunch will be provided to all participants.

The examination will be of two hours duration, with 15 multiple choice and 10 short answer type questions. The course material can be downloaded from the link given below. The participants are instructed to prepare well before attending the doubt clearing session.
