A battery of leaders in the front
The three rounds of the ongoing 18th Adyar Times FIDE rated open chess tournament passed off peacefully with the top players not facing much challenge from their respective opponents. Four more rounds are remaining in this event which had attracted 405 players from three different federations. This traditional event is being sponsored by Adyar Times and organized by Tamil Nadu State Association at Bala Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Adyar, Chennai.
IM P.Saravana Krishnan, the champion of the 13th edition of this prestigious event played an elegant game in Queen pawn opening to tame his opponent Mithlesh Krishanan Balagopal in 42 moves. On the adjacent board R.A. Pradeep Kumar prevailed upon his lesser know opponent M.Abhinav Karthik.
