As many as 356 players are in the fray in the 17th Adyar Times FIDE Rated Open Chess Tournament which was flagged off on 12th October, 2017 at Montfort Indoor Stadium, Santhome Higher Secondary School, Mylapore, Chennai. Over all players from 4 National Federations are playing in this event which includes three International Master and they all will be vying for top honours for a total prize fund of Rs.1.5 Lakhs. This seven round FIDE rated event organized by Tamil Nadu State Chess Association was inaugurated by Shri. Stephen Balasamy, General Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Chess Association.
