Grandmaster Pa Iniyan defeated GM Deepan Chakkravarthy J of ICF to collect 8.5 points to become the outright winner. PSPB grandmaster Venkatesh M R had a good tournament in his home town to score eight points and to finish runner up.
Four players – Deepan, IM Aronyak Ghosh of Railways, IM Sammed Jaykumar Shete of Maharashtra and IM Kaustuv Kundu of West Bengal tied for the third to sixth places and finished in that order based on the tiebreaks score.
Both Iniyan and Deepan maintained parity until the middle game arising from a Queens Gambit.
