Akshay Borgaonkar wins 26th IM Norm
Akshay Borgaonkar drew with Lokesh in the final round to score 7 points and won the 26th Tamil Nadu IM Norm Closed Circuit Chess Tournament – Coimbatore. Akshay obtained an IM Norm in this event. 1st Runner up Harshit Pawar scored 6 points. He drew with Uzbek GM Tair Vahidov in 31 moves. Coimbatore lad Harshad beat IM David Gochelashvili in 38 moves to finish a creditable 2nd runner up. The prizes were distributed by International Master & Grandmaster elect V S Rathanvel, a talented player of Coimbatore.
