16th Tamil Nadu IM Norm Closed Circuit Chess Tournament
Anton wins yet another title
IM Anton Sitnikov scored 7 points and wins the 16th TN IM Norm Closed Circuit Chess Tournament held at VLR Residency from 30th January to 4th February,2024, Nagercoil. IM Anton continued his form from Tirunelveli, where he had won the 15th TN IM Norm tournament at Tirunelveli. It is his 2nd title in 2 weeks. In the final round he drew with IM David Gochelashvili of Russia in 31 moves from the black side of the Berlin Ruy Lopez. N Lokesh, the winner of the 14th TN IM Norm Tournament, also scored 7 points but was placed 2nd on the tie breaks. A two way tie break between 3rd & 4th place on 6 points happened between FM Mohammed Anees and FM Suyog Wagh. Mohameed Anees beat IM Kudzanai and Suyog beat Raghav to clinch the 3rd place on better tie breaks.
