Tamil Nadu State Chess Association is pleased to inform that it has already completed seven IM norm closed circuit chess tournaments successfully, achieving four IM norms and the eighth one is under progress at Erode.
The tenth tournament ends at SIvakasi on 22nd December and the 11th tournament starts at Chennai from 9th to 14th January 2024 (after the Madurai and Chennai GM tournaments).
Tamil Nadu State Chess Association is holding IM Norm Round Robin Tournaments as per the following schedule:-

Of the ten players in each event, three players will be filled by TNSCA from the list of Tamil Nadu players. The selection will be based on FRLs of each month of the tournament to maintain the average rating of the event. Players with a rating of 2200+ on December 2023 FRL will be given priority. Apart from ratings, norms already achieved, performance credentials in national and international events will be considered.

Please note that the selected player needs to pay Rs. 10000 as entry fee to the organizers and the players also have to bear the boarding and lodging expenses.. It is a golden opportunity for needy and deserving players at very low cost to achieve the IM norm.
