Organized by Lotus Chess Academy (Affiliated to KDCA) & Little Raju Chess Academy
The second edition of State Level Children’s tournament was organized successfully by Lotus Chess Academy & Little Raju Chess Academy at MIT Campus, which attracted around 500 participants from all over the State.
The Chief Arbiter for the tournament was Shri M.Muthukumar, International Arbiter. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Ravichandran, Warden, MIT, who applauded the efforts of parents for taking their children to various events to sharpen their skills. The subsequent rounds were also inaugurated by distinguished guests like Dr. Bhaskar (CBOE, MIT), Smt.Malini (Customs Dept), Shri Raghuram (CEO,Parvathy Hospitals), Smt Pavithra (MD,Maha Beauty Parlour), Shri Karthikeyan (Aamway Distributor). Some of the moments of the event was telecast by Vendhar TV channel in their News on 2nd July.
A total number of 200 glittering trophies were distributed as prizes for the children under 5 age categories (U7, U9, U11,U13, U15). The title sponsor for the event was Shri Ashwin Kumar, Managing Director, VKM Vidyalaya & Director, Prabhudeva Studios Pvt Ltd. The event was co-sponsored by CJP Constructions, KRBL Pvt Ltd (IndiaGate Basmati), Coca-Cola, Maha Beauty Parlour, Ramanaas Catering, McDonalds, 3pi Modular Kitchens, Aamway apart from some Individual donors.
Special offer coupons from McDonald, Maha Beauty parlour were also given to all the participants to motivate them, thanks to the sponsors. Special thanks is due to Dr. A.Rajadurai, Dean, MIT for his permission to host the event in this historical institution.
The Prize Distribution function was conducted on 2nd July, for which Shri Ashwin Kumar was the chief guest and other Guest of Honours included Smt. Girija Chandran (Councilor, Kamarajapuram & Mother of Shri Jayapradeep Chandran, Properietor, CJP Constructions), Dr. Balakumar, PD, MIT, Shri.Ravikumar (Anna University), Shri Aravind (McDonalds). Dr. Balakumar enlightened the kids about the opportunities in Anna University & other Engineering Colleges for distinguished sports achievers and encouraged them to take up the game more seriously and professionally.
