27th TN State Under-17 Chess Championship was organized by the Erode District Chess Circle on behalf of TNSCA from 01-05-2016 to 05-05-2016 at Kongu Kalvi Nilayam, Erode.
Mr. Lieder Panicker, Assistant Commisioner of Income Tax, Erode inaugurated the 27th TN State Under-17 Chess Championship 2016 in the presence of Mr. M. Kuppusamy, President, Kongu Kalvi Nilayam, Mr. K. Selvaraj, Correspondent, Kongu Kalvi Nilayam, Mr. Alfa. V.S. Elango, MD, Alfa Engineering & Alfa Switch Gears (1) Pvt. Ltd., and Dr. S. Ramesh, Secretary, Erode District Chess Circle.
165 Players took part in this Championship. In the nail biting final Round in Boys Section Erode player Asian Medalist Iniyan P (7.5/9) defeated Aadithya M (7/9) from Kanchipuram to became TN State U-17 Open Champion.
In Girls Section Salem player Kavitha PL drew with Chennai player Jegatha B and became TN State U-17 Girls Champion.
