Saranya holds Grandmaster Solodovnichenko in Chennai Open

Chennai girl Woman FIDE Master J Saranya held Grandmaster Yuri Solodovnichenko of Ukraine to a draw in the second round of the 10th Chennai Open International Grandmaster Chess tournament 2018 for Sakthi Group Dr N Mahalingam Trophy at The Vijay Park Hotel, Chennai here today.
On the leader-board with 2/2 score were top seed GM Timur Gareyev of USA who defeated Maharashtra girl Mrudul Dehenkar and Tiviakov who scored over P Bala Kannamma. Sharing the lead with the top seeds were GMs Tukhaev Adam, Vitaly Sivuk (both Ukraine), Tran Tuan Minh (Vie), Marat Dzhumaev (Uzb), Pruijssers Roeland (Ned), Horvath Adam, Czebe Attila (both Hungary), Deepan Chakkravarthy and R R Laxman (both India) among others.
This 266 player, ten round Swiss tournament concludes on 25th January, 2018.
