Shri. A.D Ranjan the Editor and Publisher of Adyar Times, a neighbourhood newspaper has passed away suddenly on Monday, the 12th February 2018 at his residence in Chennai. He is aged 62 years. The Adyar Times FIDE rated open chess tournament an annual event of Tamil Nadu State Chess Association is being supported by him for seventeen years in a row, a venture started by his family. He was a lovable and a charming personality. In his untimely death chess in Tamil Nadu has lost a good sponsor and an ardent supporter of the game of chess. The Tamil Nadu State Association along with the chess fraternity expresses its deepest condolence to Adyar Times family.
