RAMCO-TNSCA AWARDS

Mr. M.V. Muthuramalingam, Chairman Velammal Educational Trust and Patron, Tamil Nadu State Chess Association was Chief Guest and he distributed the Cash Awards to the Tamil Nadu Achievers.

Mr. D.V. Sundar, Hon. Secretary, All India Chess Federation, Mr. J.C.D. Prabhakar, Vice-President, Tamil Nadu State Chess Association, and Mr. Manuel Aaron, Arjuna Awardee and Govt. Observer for Chess were felicitated the players. Mr. K. Muralimohan. General Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Chess Association proposed the vote of Thanks.

Grandmasters S.Arun Prasad and Sundararajan Kidambi received Rs.50,000/- each. International Masters S.P.Sethuraman, Ashwin Jayaram, B.Adhiban, P.Karthikeyan, N.Srinath and B.T.Muralikrishnan were awarded with Rs.30,000/- each. Woman International Masters Sai Meera Ravi and P.Priya received Rs.20,000/- each. Members of the Gold Medal winning Indian Team in World Youth Olympiad 2007 S.Nitin, and R.Ashwath, and the members of the Gold Medal winning Indian Team in World Youth Olympiad, 2008: IM Shyam Sundar and FM K.Priyadharshan rewarded with Rs.7, 500/- each. Asian Gold Medallists K.Sasikiran (Asian Indoor Games), P.Uthra (Asian Under-18 Girls) and M.Mahalakshmi (Asian Under-10 Girls) got Rs.20,000/- each. National Championship Gold Medal Winners G.K.Monnisha (Under-9 Girls-2007), P.V.Nandhitha (Under-11 Girls-2007), P.Saravanakrishnan (Under-17 Boys-2007), R.Preethi (Under-17 Girls -2007), Srija Seshadri (Under-11 Girls – 2008), J.Saranya (Under-13 Girls – 2008), R.Bharathi (Under-15 Girls – 2008), P.Shyam Nikhil (Under-17 Boys-2008),
Pon N.Krithika (Under-17 Girls – 2008) and R.R.Laxman (Under-25, 2008) were awarded with Rs.10,000/- each. R.Ramnath Bhuvanesh, Gold Medal Winner in IV Asian Sports and Games, 2008 got Rs.5, 000/-.

Tamil Nadu State Chess Association also honoured the following coaches:
Grand Master R.B. Ramesh, V. Hariharan, V. Vishweswaran, V. Ravichandran, A.L. Kasi, K. Ganesan and M.A. Veleyudham.
