4 Tamil Nadu players win Gold in Asian Youth Chess Championship.

K. Priyadarshan (Madurai), J. Saranya (Tiruvallur), Srija Sershadri (Cuddalore) and G.K. Monnisha (Chennai) emerged as Champions in Under -16 Open, Under -14 Girls and Under -12 Girls categories respectively.

K. Priyadarshan got 6.5 points out of 9 rounds to win the title in the under -16 category. Ramnath Bhuvanesh finished fourth in the same category with 6 points.

J. Saranya secured 8 points out of 9 rounds to emerge as a champion in the under -14 girls section.

Srija Seshadri and G.K. Monnisha were both awarded gold medals in the under -12 Girls category, as they tied with each other on 6.5 points. Mahalakshmi (Chennai) finished fourth with 6 points.

Pon. N. Krithka (Kanchi) added another feather to Tamil Nadu camp by winning Silver medal in the under -18 g category.

India reasserted his supremacy in Asian Youth by winning 23 out of 36 medals: 8 Gold; 7 Silver and 8 Bronze.
