Ram S. Krishnan of BSNL, Chennai emerged as Champion in the 4th S.K. Narasimhan FIDE Rated open chess Tournament which concluded here today. He drew the eleventh and final round with Tamil Nadu State Junior Champion M. Muthu Algappan of Easwari Engineering College to take his tally to 9 points. Ram. S. Krishnan awarded with S.K. Narasimhan Memorial Trophy and Rs. 15,000/- as cash prize. Six players namely top seed International Master N. Srinath, M. Muthu Algappan Venkat Sundaram, Senthil Kumaran R.P, Ganesh Babu . S and Krishnan Varun tied on 8.5 points each and were placed second to seventh in that order. Mr. N. Tamilselvan, IG (Operations) gave away the prizes to the winners.
