Two Years old Ramnad District Chess Association has organized its 1st State Level Children Chess Tournament in a grand manner.The organizing Secretary Mr. Ragland Madhuram did wonderful arrangement for the players, particularly the playing hall. The beautiful venue gave the enjoyment to the parents and the players and they appreciated the organizer for their wonderful effort to organize this event.
The tournament was held at Mohamed Sathak Engineering College Auditorium, Kilakarai on 19th & 20th November 2016. The event attracted 265 players from Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramnad, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Sivagangai,Tirupur, Coimbatore and Thanjavur. The total prize fund of the event was Forty Eight thousand.
The tournament was inaugurated by Shri. Kapil Kumar C Saratkar I P S, DIG of Police Ramnad District. The chief guest pointed out his great chess experience in his inaugural speech which attracted the crowd.
Dr. Sheik, the Dean of Mohamed Sathak Engineering College & Dr.Subramanian the leading child specialist in Kilakkarai distributed the prizes to the winners.
