International Master P.Iniyan participated in the 14th IGB Dato Arthur Tan International Chess Championship held in Malaysia from 27/08/2017 to 03/09/2017. Totally 172 player took part in the tournament and P.Iniyan started as 32nd seed. There were a total of 20 Grand Masters and 23 International Masters. He scored 6.5 points out of a possible 9 points and finished as 5th place, winning 6 games including Malaysian FM Lim Zhou Ren, Indian FM Srinath Rao and Indonesian FM Pitra Andyka, drawing 1 game and losing 2 game in the process becoming the first among the Indian’s there. By this performance he improves 4.5 rating points and now has a live rating of 2460.
